Since 2008, La Otra Orilla<\/strong> has been inviting dancers from Spain and around the world to give intensive flamenco workshops in its studio. The artists chosen by La Otra Orilla are internationally acclaimed dancers, also renowned for their exceptional teaching skills.<\/p>

The intensive courses are a unique opportunity for our studio students and dancers accross the country to open up their field of learning and discover another flamenco language.<\/p>

More than ever, La Otra Orilla continues its mission to promote flamenco culture and thus support the dance community across Canada.<\/p>

An instant composition is a dance piece created in real time. The performers are at once inventors of materials, composers and performers. They work together to shape the moment. There is no leader or follower; all performers participate equally in the creative process. Instant compositions unfold unpredictably, vibrantly and uniquely.<\/p>\n

To what extent do we let ourselves be moved? Be moved?<\/p>\n

What are the different ways of listening?<\/p>\n

What makes you move, what makes you stand still?<\/p>\n

What is dance asking of you at this very moment?<\/p>\n

In this introductory workshop on instant composition, we’ll be practicing embodied listening, presence in space, body softening and permissiveness.<\/p>\n

Born in 1978 in Montreal and a graduate of L’\u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure de danse du Qu\u00e9bec, Chlo\u00e9 Br\u00fbl\u00e9 has been living in Spain since 1998. After training with such masters as Manolo Marin, Andr\u00e9s Marin, Javier Latorre and Rafaela Carrasco, she went on to perform for such renowned choreographers as Javier Latorre, \u201cRinconete y Cortadillo\u201d, \u00c1ngeles Gabald\u00f3n, \u2018Inmigraci\u00f3n\u2019, Israel Galv\u00e1n, \u201cTorero alucin\u00f3geno\u201d.<\/p>

In 2005, she founded Compa\u00f1ia Marco Vargas y Chlo\u00e9 Br\u00fbl\u00e9. Within their company, she and Marco develop a language all their own, creating several productions that tour Spain and the rest of the world. Their creations have received critical and public acclaim, winning them various dance awards.<\/p>

Most recently, Chlo\u00e9 Br\u00fbl\u00e9 wrote and directed her first show uniting dance and theater, Las Yeguas, which met with critical and public success at Seville’s Teatro Central.<\/p>

In 2013, she opened Estudio 35 in Seville, a space for creating and teaching dance and flamenco. Chlo\u00e9 has taught in many countries, including Spain, Canada, Scotland, Germany and Greece.<\/p>

Now a leading figure in Spanish and international flamenco dance, choreographer, performer, director and teacher extraordinaire, it is with great pleasure and honor that we invite Chlo\u00e9 back to the La Otra Orilla studio for a 4-day workshop.
